World of Warcraft

I've played WoW a couple times in the past couple of years (I generally play for a month, get sick of not playing any other games, and stop).  It's a fun game, though I resent being forced to socialize; if they offered this offline, I would play non-stop.  I hate having to deal with the griefing and trolling and immature players, and I haven't found enough good players to balance it all out.  Generally, I play inside my own little bubble, but in order to write about it, I am going to try all kinds of crazy things.  So yes, I will even try to talk in General Chat.

I have only really played two classes, a Priest and a Warrior.  I was trying to choose between Paladin and Druid for this character, and after careful consideration, chose Druid, since they have cute shape-shifting abilities.  (This is the the mental level that I play on).  Also, since I refuse to play hideous Horde classes, I had a choice between Night Elves and Worgen (werewolves).  Night elves are from the original game, some 6 years ago, so look embarrassingly bland and polygon-y compared to the new Worgen, who were just released.

Thus is how I chose to play a furry.

I picked Aerie Peak as my server, because of Aerie in Baldur's Gate II, who was an adorable tiny whiny elf.  I am secretly hoping everyone else picked it for the same reason.

Creating a character took me a while; when you make something you are going to be looking at for a while, you want to make sure you get it right.  Warcraft has always had a relatively pitiful customization screen, allowing you to choose between about 7 faces of various hideousness, with one or two beautiful ones.

Seriously, who wants to look like this?

Alternately, you can't pick the best looking one either:

Because everyone picks that one.

So after much deliberation and hair adjustments, I finally settled on the following.  Here she is in human form:

And furry yip yip form:

Hopefully I'll be taking her into the actual game tomorrow; until then, she can marvel at the lovely login screen.
